Research Associate Post

The University of Manchester invites applications for a two year post doctoral Research Associate post based in Politics. As part of a larger 5 year European Research Council grant on 'Understanding Institutional Change: A Gender Perspective' lead by Georgina Waylen, the post holder will work on a comparative project looking at how new institutions are gendered.

Congratulations! Waylen wins ERC Advanced Grant

Congratulations to FIIN co-director Georgina Waylen (University of Sheffield) who has won a coveted 2.2 million euro European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant for a programme of work entitled Understanding Institutional Change: A Gender Perspective. Georgina will be leading a team of researchers on a series of interlinked projects over the next five years.ERC awards fund top European scientists to undertake groundbreaking "blue skies" research.

Justice for All Conference: The ICC at 10 years

FIIN co-director Louise Chappell has organised (with colleagues at UNSW) a major conference marking the 10th anniversary of the International Criminal Court.  Speakers included senior ICC officials including the incoming Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensoud (pictured), as well as a number of renowned academic, government and civil society experts on the Court. The two key objectives of the Conference were to examine the role and success of the ICC in achieving gender justice, and to analyse the participation of the Asia Pacific region in the ICC regime.
